Pan American Clipper Missing in South Pacific Mystery
The Pan American Airways Samoan Clipper carrying six crew members disappeared on a flight from Pago Pago to Auckland. Wreckage was later found 14 miles west of Pago Pago by the Avocet, with no survivors reported. The aircraft last radioed from near Pago Pago before vanishing into the South Pacific.

In Breckenridge Minnesota a purebred Holstein cow named Femco Alma was crowned queen of the dairy world after producing 1252.5 pounds of butter in a year.
