Medicine Hat man charged with first degree murder
A Medicine Hat man named Robert S. Hoefman faces a first degree murder charge in the death of 64 year old James Satre whose body was found near his Mill Street home on October 11 The charge comes with an extortion count filed earlier and Hoefman has been in custody since November Police say the homicide was used to intimidate a victim in the extortion case and that Satre was not connected to the accused or the extortion victim with both investigations considered linked in mid October and Hoefman arrested November 9
