Local resident C W Huycke aged 78 died suddenly at his home on Fourth Street. Norman Smyth found the body after leaving a newspaper and reporting the missed edition to neighbor Bert Montgomery. Coroner and doctor ruled death natural. Huycke a former carpenter and veteran of the 175th Battalion served overseas, later worked for CPR until retirement. His wife died in 1932 and son Vernon traveled from Lethbridge upon notification.
