Canadian held for hijacking in Tokyo bomb threat case

Kwok Young Ming, a Hong Kong born Canadian, charged under Japan anti hijacking law for a bomb threat against a Korea Airlines jumbo jet that diverted to Tokyo Narita. Propane tanker collision prompts evacuation near Courtenay

About 300 residents were evacuated after a northbound propane tanker flipped on the Island Highway to avoid a van. Fire crews plugged the leak with foam and drained 38,000 litres into other tankers. Driver William Burnham, 33, was treated for minor injuries and released. The road reopened Friday night.
