Last night the annual Canadian Legion smoker drew a large turnout and featured a smooth program with novelties. The organizing committee led by L Sharland received praise for a successful event and a focus on unity, patriotism, and plans for Armistice Day observance across branches.
January 8 Calgary meeting of the Benchers of the Law Society disbarred one Alberta lawyer and suspended another. Appeals within a month are still possible, and names were not announced. San Antonio reports cadet Richard E. Terrell and Charles Shields both 22 of the attack section at Kelly Field were killed instantly when their aircraft collided at 1500 feet and plunged in spins.
A large fire in Gaspe Quebec during the night destroyed the Robin Jones and Whitman buildings owned by D. Lesperance. Damages are estimated at 250000 dollars with partial insurance coverage.
