Toronto January 8 Norman Red Ryan known as the Red bandit pleaded guilty to robbery with violence against the Bank of Nova Scotia branch last September. County Judge Coatsworth sentenced him to life imprisonment with thirty lashes to be carried out at ten lashes monthly for three months. He will be transferred to Portsmouth penitentiary immediately.
East St Louis TL January the St Louis Producer Livestock Commission Association will refund more than 280000 in commissions to farmers and stockmen in the St Louis trading area for 1925. last year 40000 was refunded. the cooperative agency formed two years ago by the american farm bureau federation and the state farm bureau reports that in 1925 over 11000 cars of live stock were handled, compared with 600 in 1922.
United Farmers of Manitoba directors report at their twenty first annual convention stresses cooperative agencies owned and controlled by farmers as the remedy for marketing problems. The statement appears in the convention's noon submitted report amid a review of economic conditions.
