Scholarship fund set up for Ernie Heinemann by WCHL

The Western Canada Hockey League will create an eight thousand dollar four year scholarship for Ernie Heinemann, who lost his professional hockey dream after an eye injury in October. A benefit exhibition game January 14 in Medicine Hat will feature the Medicine Hat Tigers hosting the Calgary Centennials, with all gate proceeds to a trust for Heinemann. Tickets at two dollars go on sale Saturday. the league will run the event and ensure no gate sharing. Heinemann, born February 23, 1951 in Vermilion, played junior in Ponoka and with the Tigers and Centennials before his injury ending his pro hopes.

Brodie Named NFL MVP In AP Balloting
