Lloyd George outlines Britain’s unemployment relief plan
In reply to critics, Lloyd George detailed government spending totaling about 500 million dollars on out of work donations, industrial training for disabled men, apprenticeships, land and overseas settlement, and road and housing projects. He noted 5.525 million demobilized with 250 thousand still unemployed, mostly young and unskilled, and described measures to place officers in firms with training grants for two years.
