Atlantic storm batters Canada with floods and snow

A major winter storm battered Atlantic Canada with hurricane winds and 29 cm of snow. One woman died in Nova Scotia when her car hit an oncoming vehicle near Truro. About 130 residents were forced from homes in Placentia, Newfoundland, as two-metre tides and 130 kmh winds flooded 50 properties.

Two Sikhs hanged for Gandhi killing

In New Delhi the 1984 assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi led to two Sikhs being hanged at Tihar Jail. Altamont Group Aims Alberta to California Gas Pipeline
