Ezra H. Riley Ex MLA Dies in Calgary at 70

Ezra H. Riley 70 a former Liberal member of the Alberta Legislature died in Calgary. He witnessed the 1867 Confederation proclamation at Queen's Park Toronto and was born in Yorkville near Toronto. Riley moved to the Calgary district in 1887, ranching near the city, and served as MLA from 1906 until resigning in 1909 amid political controversy.

Royal Commission resumes Winnipeg hearings on grain trade

The Royal Commission inquiry into the Canadian grain trade resumes in Winnipeg with Justice Turgeon presiding. New CPR Appointees Take Over Medicine Hat Division

Edmonton youths plan ski hike to Toronto

Two Edmonton youths Peter Kaffer and Richard Schroeter will leave Edmonton tomorrow on a ski hike toward Toronto. They intend to travel across open country using blankets as sails when possible, averaging about 100 miles a day to reach Toronto around mid March.

In Calgary a fire at the Taylor cottage on 17th Ave West killed three children Noreen 3 14, John 21, Donald 1 in bed. mother frostbitten and shocked. fireman injured.
