Blame Placed on Train Crew for Caron Wreck
At the Norde wreck inquest in Caron Moose Jaw January 4 the jury found extra 404 caused collision by negligence of the conductor and rear end brakeman for not protecting the rear of the train when water was taken. They also blamed Despatcher Foley Moose Jaw for not notifying Mortlach operator the train was light and thus under a twenty minute block. They added a headlight could have prevented the tragedy.
