Council OKs war memorial with lettered unit numbers
The Royal United Services Institute wins city approval to erect a WWI memorial on river valley land. The plan lights, shows 40 foot tall unit designations for 3CMR and 175th Battalion, raises about 90000 dollars, and includes maintenance via a dedicated trust. Dedication could occur September 10 during a ceremony led by the South Alberta Lighthorse regiment.
