Quebec jumper Ferragne leaps to international meets
Two years after rising from city parks, Claude Ferragne, 20, now an elite Canadian high jumper. He set a Canadian indoor record of seven feet two inches in Quebec City and earned invitations to the American Athletic Union championships in New York on February 23 and the Soviet Union meet in Moscow on March 4 5. Ferragne aims for seven three this summer as he eyes global competition.
