Markets on a high as Toronto Stock Exchange hits record
The Toronto Stock Exchange rose 3.5 percent to 9,209.20 in its third straight record high on a day of heavy trading. Volume neared 192,372 transactions with 253.2 million shares valued at $4.23 billion, as the market weekly gain reached 9.8 percent. The Canadian Venture Exchange also jumped over 50 percent since late November, led by junior technology stocks.
