Chief Walking Buffalo dies at 97 in Alberta
BANFF Alberta CP Chief Walking Buffalo of the Stony Indians died at age 97 after a stroke ridden period. Born March 20 1870 he was adopted by Rev John MacLean and renamed George MacLean. Elected chief in 1920 he retired in 1935 and later toured the world for Moral Re armament in 1959. He valued nature and spirituality and left a medicine stick and photo album as his legacy.
