A poultry show opens in Lowe's Hall with ongoing displays and activities. Organizers say the event, planned weeks ago, showcases local flocks and related exhibits for visitors.
British and Canadian forces conducted a bold trench raid north of Aras on a 400 yard front. The attackers seized the German front line, killed and captured soldiers, and destroyed about twenty dugouts before returning to their lines. Canadian casualties were light and morale high as the operation ended within an hour and a half.
Ottawa reports Sir Robert Bordan sent a carefully worded letter to the Trades and Labor Congress outlining the National Service Commission’s aims. The board discussed night classes for foreign born pupils, bids for by laws printing, gas fumes at Elm Street boiler, and praised Chairman Lang on his retirement after two years of service.

Medicine Hat exhibitors found strong success at the Lethbridge Poultry Show last week with a list of prize winners. L. B. Losey earned multiple placings in Barred Rocks and related varieties, while T. Montgomerie, R. Williamson, and others collected firsts and seconds across White Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, Black Hamburgs, Black Minorcas, Partridge Rocks, Black Orpingtons, and Silver Wyandottes.
Large crowds attend the Provincial Poultry Exhibition at Lowe’s Hall on North Railway Street. High quality birds are on display and the show runs the rest of the week with nightly hours until 10. Scouts assist by selling tickets and programs. About 60 delegates from outside points attend the Provincial Poultry Association meeting at City Hall tonight to elect officers for the coming year.
Berlin reports United States Ambassador Gerard attended the holiday celebration at Camp Ruthleben for internees nicknamed Britt prisoners. Despite stern conditions, prisoners enjoyed an impressive Christmas program aided by parcels from home, making for a merry day.
At a Medicine Hat Typographical Union meeting delegates to the Alberta Federation convention in Edmonton on January 16 were selected. President GW. Eson recording secretary McB Forbes alternate Urquhart and B W Bellam were named as delegates. The Trades Council will attend as the delegate of the Typographical union.
