Christmas prayers for peace were echoed by Pope Paul and church leaders worldwide as the one day Vietnam truce ended. The Queen urged unity and Canada’s leaders called for action and tolerance to resolve national issues amid the centenary celebration.
Medicine Hat police report a string of minor accidents during the Christmas holiday with no hospitalizations.
