A U S Navy radar plane crashed about 25 miles north of Oahu with 24 aboard. Two bodies and four survivors were recovered as searchers worked in six mile visibility and six foot seas. The four engine Super Constellation, valued at 7 500 000 dollars, disappeared Monday on a routine training flight.
Alberta announces 1958 car and truck plates will feature black letters on a lemon yellow background. Plates go on sale March 3, replacing 1957 plates expiring March 31. Fort Saskatchewan prisoners manufacture them, about three quarters done, with over 425000 sets expected. Plates will be sold in transparent plastic envelopes to cut errors and cost. Registrations reach 392565 this year, expected to exceed 400000.
