Alberta nurses union backs four year pay rise deal
The United Nurses of Alberta asks its 30 000 members to ratify a four year contract with Alberta Health Services proposing a 4.25 percent annual pay increase plus a one percent 2021 lump sum. Additional funding targets rural recruitment and retention and relocation aid. Finance Minister Travis Toews says the deal supports health system stability and honors nurses during the pandemic. UNA says this reverses earlier wage cuts and rollbacks.
