Bush pilot Bob Cooper and businessman Don Anderson of Fairbanks Alaska were located near Worth Station on the Pacific Great Eastern Railway line after Cooper crash landed on Baskey Mountain. The plane was slightly damaged and both men were to be taken to Fort St John by rail as rescuers reported the radio still worked.
In Calgary a court postponed the Medalta Potteries liquidation to January 19. Judge Harold Riley oversaw the adjournment at the request of bondholders. Medicine Hat and McArthur Associates bid for the assets, with Clarkson Co. Ltd. acting as liquidator. City council had discussed selling the property by tender after court approval, with taxes to be assumed by the purchaser.

An abandoned three acre packing plant near railway tracks in Moose Jaw burned early today. Damage is placed at 150000 dollars by city assessors. Scrap metal valued at 20000 dollars was stored inside. The plant had not operated for eight years and firefighters fought the blaze for over four hours.
