Burnaby RCMP seek Mohamed Hamamoud Hashi an immigration warrant for arrest over sex attacks in Saudi Arabia Switzerland and Boston. Hashi aged about 30 once linked to multimillionaire Abdi Hash and rumored to have lived in Burnaby. He fled Boston in 1991 before trial on rape kidnapping and assault with a weapon.

A Martinair DC-10 from Amsterdam crashed on approach to Faro Portugal in stormy weather killing 28 to 90 people with hundreds injured. The plane carried 327 passengers and 13 crew on a flight from Schiphol to Faro. Survivors were reported as authorities worked amid flames and debris.
PWA Corp proposes prepaying up to 506 million in claims for senior creditors and others by rights to acquire common shares. A final plan is expected in late February.
