In London on December 21 danger of further gas main explosions persisted after yesterday’s destruction and casualties. Workers labored all night sealing mains by digging to breakages, drilling into the pipe, and inflating canvas bags or pig bladders to seal the lines.
McQueen was re elected president at the nomination meeting held last evening. Elections for officers and the executive take place January 17 with polls open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Premier Brownlee named Honorary President. numerous nominations follow and several appointments were announced. Regina December 21 Mrs Sophia Magel 31 died in hospital Friday from injuries after her car was struck by a C P R passenger train while crossing Winnipeg street. Victim and driver Victor Sigel stopped to yield to a freight, but failed to see the oncoming train. The impact hurled the car 15 yards. another occupant was only slightly hurt.
