Local returns show Hon Al Sifton elected in Medicine Hat riding by a majority exceeding 2000. City residents gave a splendid majority while Redcliff Empress Oyen Youngstown Walsh and other outside places also delivered large majorities for the Minister of Customs.

Soldiers' Vote Returns After New Year

Ottawa report notes additional federal election returns from the west and beyond show little change. Laurier supporters may gain in the west from one to three seats. Skeena Liberal Stork leads Unionist Peck with a margin, while White of Victoria Alberta leads by 59 votes with 61 of 196 polls reported. If these seats go Liberal, provincial results will shift accordingly.

Sifton Wins Medicine Hat Vote by Large Margin

Hon A L Sifton was elected in Medicine Hat by about 2000 votes with many outlying polls not yet reporting. City results show a 1708 majority in Medicine Hat and additional leads from Red Cliff 191 Empress 85 Oyen 59 Lafine 49. Outside polls suggest a small overall majority remains possible. Over 2700 votes were cast in the city, a near ninety percent turnout.
