Farm Family Burns Out Woolchester Home

The William Schattle family of the Woolchester district is homeless after a fire destroyed their farm home on Monday. It started at 3 pm while Mr and Mrs Schattle were away in Medicine Hat. A nearby truck was partially destroyed and only a floor polisher and a vacuum cleaner survived on the porch. The Shuttles have two sons aged 5 and 9. Woolchester district lies 14 miles south of Dunmore.

Truck Hits City Man on Trans-Canada Bridge

Heather, 43, of 530 Spencer Street, was struck at 8:55 am on the Trans-Canada Highway bridge by a truck driven by Robert Wahl of Redcliff. Medicine Hat City Council raised the minimum frontage price for residential land from 27.50 to 30 dollars per frontage foot effective today.
