Burglars Loot Dawson's Cafe Through Back Window
Thieves entered Dawson's Cafe on Main St last night via a back window and damaged two cash registers and the safe, taking about 125 dollars in cash and cheques. A piece of furnace brass and handprints at the scene aided police, who traced a gray McLaughlin car seen near the elevated rear area around 1:00 AM. The discovery was made at 7:09 this morning by a cafe employee.

City approves street widening and fire hall plans
The council passed a bylaw to widen streets near the fortier line and extend setback seven feet on main streets. Alderman Mc Clellan and Alderman Johnston led the measures.
