MPs to vote on 50 percent pay raise for Parliament
Ottawa report says Government House Leader Mitchell Sharp announced MPs will seek legislation to lift combined MPs salaries to 39 000 a year and cabinet ministers to 25 000 with senators raised to 27 000 plus expenses. Six survive plane crash in Peruvian jungle
A bush pilot Oscar Zender Samiento and nine children were aboard a small plane that crashed into dense vegetation near Iscosasin, Peru. Two other children died in the crash, an 11-year-old relative died later from infected wounds, and bad weather hampered recovery efforts.
