Escapee Ryan Captured After Minneapolis Post Office Gunfight
Norman Red Ryan alias Slade, an escaped Canadian convict, was shot and captured in a post office gun battle with five bandits. Four bandits, including three Kingston penitentiary escapees, fled. one possibly wounded. Police, wary crowds, and detectives pursued all over Minneapolis as Ryan confessed to the Kingston escape and a $5,000 Grand Ave Bank holdup in St. Paul on November 5.
