D. Fitzgerald was arrested on an intimidation charge after banker Schenke admitted robbing his employers of papers found missing from the Stoner Real Estate Agency. Chief Reynolds testified he did not believe Schenke’s story about a Medicine Hat man named Joe Smith. Magistrate Kealy dismissed the case after Schenke’s allegations proved to be a tissue of lies.
Calgary December 12 A A McGillivray of Tweedie and McGillivray filed an appeal in the supreme court en banc for a new trial in the case of Axel H Anderson convicted at Medicine Hat of murdering his wife and sentenced to be hanged. The appeal invokes insanity as a basis for a new trial. Crown counsel L F Clarry and W A Begg appeared for the crown. Anderson remains in the guard room awaiting outcome.
In Gat on December 12, current mayor Oliver and aldermen Cain Spafford Campbell Cooke Gordon and Burgess announce plans to run again for the 1914 council.

The painting bears the Louvre seals and traces of back repairs. Perugia was interrogated again and defended his act as patriotic vengeance for Napoleon’s depredations in Italy. Prominent Italians urge display in Florence before return to France.
