Hunger strike survivor reunites with Toronto family
Stefan Przybylski, one of ten men who joined a 19 day hunger strike outside the Polish consulate in Toronto, was reunited Friday at Toronto Pearson with his wife Wiesia and 13 year old son Marcin after more than two years apart. He described days of doubt but expressed relief at the emotional meeting and the chance to be with his family again.

Nobel Peace Prize Goes to Lech Walesa for Courage
The 1983 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Solidarity leader Lech Walesa of Poland for giving a burning torch to the fight for freedom. Danuta Walesa accepted the medal and diploma in Oslo, noting Walesa’s fear of not returning home. The Polish government denounced the award as provocation.
