Alberta launches a pilot project delivering in-class portions of training via video conferencing on the SuperNet. Twenty one apprentices including fifteen welders and six electricians from Edson Drayton Valley Grande Cache Hinton and Jasper participate, funded by the province, run through NAIT with Pembina and Yellowhead educational consortia.
The Alberta government reports 19 historic sites and cultural facilities produce over $70 million in annual economic benefits and sustain about 1,100 permanent jobs across the province. Saskatchewan Alberta press reports that Estevan former mayor John Empey has his sentencing delayed again in southeast Saskatchewan. A judge postponed the decision to December 15 after a prior postponement. Empey pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault, with the charges involving inappropriate conduct with a teenage girl over two decades ago.
