Bridge in Riviere du Loup collapses without injuries

A 100-foot bridge on the St. Lawrence south shore highway in Riviere du Loup collapsed today as a large truck crossed it. Both occupants escaped into the shallow river. the bridge, described as at least 70 years old, fell from its abutments and slipped into the water. The town is about 120 miles east of Quebec City.

Trans-Canada Proposes 2247 Mile Alberta Montreal Gas Line

Trans-Canada Pipe Lines presented plans to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Conservation Board to supply Alberta’s natural gas for 20 years and build 2247 miles of main transmission line plus 979 miles of gathering line in Alberta at over 300 million dollars. The gathering system would run from Pincher Creek to the Tan gent and Whitelaw fields in the Peace River area.
