City Council Ends Year With Tax Prepayment Policy Decision

City council approved continuing prepayment of 1934 taxes from January 2 to March 31 with interest credited from payment date to June 15, 1934. World Awaiting Italy's Withdrawal Decision

Rome observers say Italy may defund the League of Nations funding if Fascist authorities decide not to follow Japan and Germany in leaving. The council meeting was expected to declare the League ineffective without United States Japan and Germany participation. Some believed withdrawal is certain while others see it as leverage for four power disarmament talks in Rome.

Unemployment Rise Across Sectors in London Labor Figures

London reports a steady rise in employed numbers to 9.62 million and 50,873 unemployed men with 298,589 boys and 35,993 girls seeking work.
