Cress Captured After Race Over the U S Border
Wenatchee Washington December 5 Robert Cress fugitive sought by Canadian and Washington officers was captured in Okanagan county by a posse led by Sheriff Bernard McCauley and his brother Joe McCauley. Cress escaped from Nelson British Columbia jail November 23 and was recaptured the next day. He was acquitted on the Greenwood liquor store hold up charge but sentenced to one year for the prison break. En route to Vancouver to serve the sentence he leapt from a moving train near Carmi and escaped again.
