Mavericks hire Loza as new head coach for 2022 season

The Medicine Hat Mavericks announced William Loza as their new head coach for 2022. The Montebello California product has led Presentation College in South Dakota for three seasons and has six seasons of college coaching experience. Mavericks GM Greg Morrison cited Loza’s leadership and contacts as key to building the roster as the team returns to the field in the city after a three year hiatus.

United Way and Root Cellar Host Spirit of Christmas Feast

United Way South Eastern Alberta partners with Medicine Hat’s Root Cellar for the ninth annual Spirit of Christmas Feast on December 25 at the Root Cellar Maple Avenue location. The event offers in person meals and a meal delivery option with registration required. John Silver helped launch the dinner to ensure no one spends Christmas alone and to reach middle and upper class residents in need of belonging during the holidays. Missy Fandrick of United Way emphasizes inclusivity and collaboration with Root Cellar for the first year of partnership.
