Fire damages prompt $1 681 85 suit in Medicine Hat court

In Calgary the supreme court heard a civil action for 1681 85 against D A Norris Co and John Tokamp after a fire on August 20 damaged the Norris store at 609 Third street and the plaintiffs property. The suit claims Tokamp, an employee of Norris, caused the blaze.

Hunter shoots golden eagle near Schu jer trail

In a Monday incident Harry Bray observed a large golden eagle rise from sand hills along a trail and shot it with a .22 rifle at about 150 yards as it climbed. The eagle carried a half devoured partridge, cited as support for calls to clear eagles from the country. Bray brought the specimen home to mount.

Vancouver scene reports James R. Wedell of New Orleans broke speed records on the Agua Caliente to Vancouver leg with a 6 hour 27 minute total time after a Reno refueling stop. Belleville Ontario December 2 The Canadian Press reports a Carling farmer G Adams described a dash for safety as wolves pursued him while driving home on his wagon. He fended them off by tossing meat along the road and reached his door just ahead of the pack. Other farmers report wolf onslaughts on sheep with some killed in barnyards.

Coroner's jury cites peritonitis in Mrs Bell death

A coroner's jury at City Hall found Clara Maude Bell died of peritonitis from a ruptured lower bowel.
