Edmonton reports the Alberta Legislature adjourned a special session after introducing 16 bills centered on Social Credit and debt adjustment. Norway's premier Johann Nygaards vold said no to Russia's demand to expel Leon Trotzky. Trotzky, now a guarded prisoner, remained indoors at Hoenefoss Villa as guards kept onlookers away. Moscow's note cited a confession from an executed plotter against Stalin as the basis for the demand.

Members only may participate. sign membership agreements at the exchange in the D C committee rooms. Citizens urged to obtain certificates at the exchange and use them as change to aid the movement.
Mr and Mrs Don Munday attempted to photograph a grizzly cub on Mount Silverthorne in British Columbia. The mother bear charged as the couple, armed with ice axes, fled toward a 12 foot crevice while on the ledge. The Mundays avoided injury after driving off the bear with an axe. In a separate note, Roger Parr of Chester England donated a further 50000 to King Edward Hospital radium fund.
Edmonton August 31 The proposed drastic debt-slashing bill will pass only if financial interests fail to agree with a BenVer or aeq arrangement Premier Aberhart said today Delegations of Eastern mortgage men and Edmonton bond-holders protective committee met the Premier Saturday and warned the bill will not be proclaimed unless all parties fail to reach agreement The bill aims to erase private debts contracted before 1932 by amounts equal to payments since 1932 and will proceed through all legislative stages up to proclamation with objections from the Edmonton bond-holders committee and the Southern Alberta organization.
