Hugo Stinnes Jr son of the late German industrialist today faced technical arrest after failing to clear himself before the examining judge. His private secretary Von Waldow has also been targeted amid alleged maneuvers involving a large fund and German war loan stock in London.
Mrs. Josephine Thompson of Ottawa died in Calgary General Hospital from injuries after an auto crash near First Baptist Church. Her sister in law Mrs. Lewis Thompson remained in serious condition with a broken arm. The driver, C Parr Jr of 530 Ninth Avenue Northwest, said he did not see the pedestrians. An inquest was adjourned to Tuesday evening.
Lake Louise August 30 guests register book at Chateau Louise shows thirty United Artists members including John Barrymore. Hotel provides special offices and dark room for developing negatives and interior filming for an on location picture. Total cast and crew reach 175 as extras join. Barrymore praises mountain setting for the scene.

Robbers broke into the MacIntosh general store at Claresholm last night, stealing merchandise mainly clothing valued at $2,000. Authorities suspect unemployed harvesters may be involved.
Vancouver officials vote to reinstate Chief H. W. Long and Sergeant George McLaughlin after a turbulent police board meeting. Mayor Louis Taylor and Commissioner J. A. A group claiming to be victims of evangelist Aimee Semple Ne rHrents pressed the Los Angeles district attorney to file a criminal complaint.They accuse fraudulent operations at the Lake Talise California resort and seek action against the four square gospel lender.
Fort William Ontario August 31 The body of Angus Cameron 16 was found crushed beneath a pile of sheet metal in the Northern Engineering shop. Investigators believe the sheets toppled or shifted while Cameron tried to move them, pinning him beneath about two thousand pounds of metal.
Morris, son of Mr and Mrs Ciby of Cambri Saskatchewan, lost an eye in an accident yesterday morning. He was rushed to Cambri for treatment and later transferred to Medicine Hat General Hospital. Thompson said Morris is too ill to discuss how the incident occurred.
The city market offered limited produce with no butter or chicken and only firsts in eggs. Display prices ranged from 20 to 26 cents per dozen for corn, 3 cents per pound for beets carrots and turnips, 4 for 26 cents on radishes, 234 cents for cabbage and 4 cents for onions.
