Weather across Western Canada shows improving harvest prospects with rain in several districts and generally clear skies. Reports from Brandon Portage la Prairie Lethbridge and Calgary note cooler mornings occasional frost fears but no widespread damage and continued hope for timely harvest.
A passenger and a work train collided at Conway yards near here today on the Cleveland and Pittsburg line. The accident occurred as trains moved through the yard, causing disruption and prompting an investigation into the cause.
Canhin in Canada reports that Premier Borden sees success for the proposed creation pending Dominion Parliament approval. The Premier notes the provincial house franchise has been accepted, regarded by all as no obstacle or night hurdle to the plan.
A resolution introduced by Edmonton seeks dividends that would give the company exercise of control over freight rates. The plan proposes increasing capital stock by 60 million dollars.
