Riots in Soweto Toll Climbs Amid Deaths
AP reports 21 killed in Soweto riots this week including 20 blacks shot by security forces. Anti-apartheid leaders claim up to 30 deaths, calling it cold blooded massacre. Rev. Frank Chikane calls it one of the darkest days. Police say they fired to protect life during street clashes. 98 injured.

IRA Claims Bombings in Northern Ireland Wave
Bombs exploded at two police stations in Belfast and an abandoned factory as a bombing wave hit Northern Ireland. The IRA claimed responsibility for a blast at Newry police station and its INLA offshoot claimed four bombs and warned of more. three devices were disarmed with no casualties reported.

Oil Drillers seek floor price and funds for stabilization
