George Weston an American Airways pilot reported a middle aged man abducted his wife Dorothy Weston 32 in front of their three children in Glendale California. Police traced Mrs Weston to a parked car in Highland Park asleep in the rear with a man beside her and her husband both said to have been drinking earlier.
Edmonton August 27 The urban and rural municipal associations of Alberta have been invited to confer with the Provincial authorities to discuss relief problems and measures. The invitation signals coordination on aid distribution and policy approaches for residents in need across cities and counties.

A Redcliff man Lewis Wilson was fined $15 and costs on a charge of dangerous driving after a collision on Redcliff hill. The crash involved a trailer carrying band instruments from Ronnie Sadler's group, which had stopped for gas near the hill. No injuries were reported. Wilson said he did not see the parked vehicle until impact.
