Kiwanis Best Kept City Block Award Goes To 0-99 Block

The 0 to 99 block on 10th Street Southwest was named the Kiwanis Club 1956 Best Kept City Block. The plaque will be awarded later this week after final arrangements. This is the second win for 10th St SW in 11 years with 1954 also a 10th St SW winner. Honorable mentions go to the 400 block Belfast the 100 block on 10th St SW and the 100 block on 3rd St SW.

Collision Involving Wardlow Family Leaves Two Seriously Hurt

Mrs Ethel Zeer and her son Blaine 13 are seriously hurt after a head on crash near Wardlow. Mrs Zeer faces facial fractures lacerations chest and leg injuries. Blaine has jaw fracture and lacerations. Two other passengers Mrs Sharon 12 and farmhand Frank Richter suffer lacera tions but no fractures and are expected to be released. Medical aid included blood plasma from Calgary Red Cross. Ray Zeer was driving the truck. he and the family were treated at Brooks Hospital.
