A Western town staged a playful duck hunting caper as the season began. Riders in red coats fled from townsmen posing as guardians, racing rigs toward Finn's Lake and Chappie’s Lake, then returning to mock the joke amid good natured joshing and farce.
The Banff paper details a game between Banff and a Calgary picked team. Jas Fleming and A Binnings from Calgary receive praise for standout plays. Fleming hit two home runs and Binnings made several running catches before both were released and seek spots on Banff’s home team.
A special Town Council meeting with Mayor Hawthorne and Councillors Nelson McKay Cook Milne and Forster saw bids for town building painting opened. M L Morrison’s $145 tender was accepted. H C Yuill discussed grading South Railway Street and the Public Works Committee will supervise the project.

W Horiball was severely hurt while oiling a knife on a stationary mower at Drake’s ranch. He was brought to the hospital where one finger on his left hand was amputated on Friday morning and his foot was dressed. The injury occurred when the knife caught his foot as horses moved.
