Three Dutch balloonists attempting a Newfoundland to Western Europe crossing ditched about 1,400 kilometers southwest of the Irish coast. Crew members Henk Brink Evelien Brink and Evert Louwman are unaccounted for. The Flying Dutchman left St. John’s on Sunday aiming for France or the Netherlands.
Mrs Samantha Smith of Maine said her husband and daughter were killed when a Bar Harbor Airlines Beechcraft 99 turboprop crashed near Auburn Lewiston Municipal Airport in rainy conditions.Authorities reported eight dead including one crew and seven passengers as officials worked to identify victims.
Southam acquires 30 percent of Torstar and Torstar buys 20 percent of Southam in a share swap that stops short of a merger.
