Ships collide in North Sea off Belgium coast
A Danish passenger ferry the Olav Britannia and the French cargo ship Mont Louis collided about 12 kilometres off Belgium. No injuries or loss of life were reported though initial words suggested sinking. Two tugs were sent to tow the Mont Louis to Dunkirk while awaiting safety checks.

Shiites Storm Saudi Consulate in Beirut
About 150 Lebanese Shiite Muslims stormed the Saudi Arabian Consulate in western Beirut and set the building on fire after breaking from a 400 strong march protesting Saudi visa delays for the Mecca pilgrimage. Police stood by as officials watched the blaze and records were dumped onto the street.
