A Athens dispatch via United Press says Allies have penetrated the Dardanelles, but the report remains unconfirmed at 8 p.m. A French official report this morning notes no victorious outcome.
A Western dispatch notes a slackening German advance with signs of force realignments behind lines. Reports from Athens and London mention bombardment near Constantinople, Russian positions near Brest-Litovsk broken through by Germans, and artillery activity across Delirium, Boeingiatied, Artois, Arras, Somme, Oise, and Champagne with continued grenades and bombing on key fronts.
London reports optimistic briefings on Gallipoli operations with expectations of a near end to Allied tasks in the Near East.
