Two Killed in Western Roundup Traffic Incidents

Western Roundup reports two fatalities in separate traffic crashes. Lydia Rose Buckingham 32 of Clive died after being struck near Aspen Beach ten miles north of here. James Phelan 29 of Red Deer died when his truck overturned near here. An inquest was ordered for Buckingham. Phelan's death details were withheld pending family health issues.

Medicine Hat Division must hire five more teachers for term

Sixty teachers have signed contracts for service in Medicine Hat School Division No.4 with a minimum of five more needed to peak for the term opening Tuesday September 4. Three resignations were accepted by the divisional board at a special meeting. Five new teachers were engaged and Mrs. F Cooper and Mrs. B Mattson were engaged as supervisor and assistant supervisor of the divisional dormitory. W S Frederick will continue as boys' supervisor. Applications for dormitory accommodations should be filed with A T Shand.
