Cindy Parolin, 36, of Princeton B C, a sexual abuse counselor and mother of four, died after using a stick to ward off a cougar that attacked her son Steven during a family horseback ride east of Vancouver. Steven survived with serious injuries and remains in stable condition as authorities consider a bravery award for Parolin.
