Alberta issues stop order against Al-Tec Sanitation Systems
Alberta Environment issues a stop order against Al-Tec Sanitation Systems of Medicine Hat to halt operations at Iron Avenue and Highway 41A sites and remove all hazardous wastes by Sept. 3 with fines up to 50 000 per day. The move follows months of investigation into improper storage and noncompliance with the Hazardous Chemicals Act.

A Pie Mobert band blockade on CP Rail’s transcontinental line in White River Ontario was to end as injunctions cleared the line. Chief James Kwissina agreed to dismantle the tangle of wooden ties and spare rails after railway police served the order.
