Six-Storey Division Ave Building Wins City Approval

Medicine Hat council approved a six storey twenty four unit apartment project on Division Ave near 1st St. The $250000 structure, with basement and six floors, is to be built by Robert Hofer. Architects Meech Mitchell Robins and Watson designed it. Planning officials say such buildings are desirable with adequate parking.

Cuban Plant Shelled by Boats Reported

Cuban radio said two boats shelled a metal processing plant in Pinar del Rio province on the north coast, damaging oil and sulfuric acid lines. The attack followed other hostilities against Fidel Castro’s government, with militiamen repelling the assault and seizing several weapons and equipment. The Cuban note blamed U.S. and Central American governments and said aggression is planned by the CIA.

Survivors Not Found After Heron Airliner Crash

Search teams recovered no survivors among 19 aboard the Heron airliner that crashed on a Tokyo mountainside. The aircraft carried 16 passengers and three crew members and had been missing since Saturday.
