Canadian Pacific workers win 15 percent pay raise
An annual agreement between the CPR and its conductors and trainmen yields an average 15 percent raise. The settlement covers Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and Order of Railway Conductors from Fort William to the Pacific coast, effective August 1. Passengers and brakemen see raises to 67–80 dollars monthly. new pay basis is 125 dollars per 5000 miles. Third brakeman dropped, crews now conductor plus two brakemen. All measures carried including funding through debentures for waterworks and gas extensions and a ten year tax exemption for the Woolen Mills. Vote tallies include 64 for waterworks and 64 for the Woollen Mills with gas listed as against.
Lacrosse Rematch Set With Lethbridge Friday
